BCBSTX Silver Level: A Balance of Cost and Coverage

Metallic levels are used to group ACA health plans and show how you and BCBSTX share health care costs. Plan types like HMO, PPO and POS (Point of Service) show how you get care and which doctors and hospitals you can use.

Each plan level offers a different mix of monthly costs and coverage. How much you pay depends on the plan you choose, where you live, your household size, income and any financial help you qualify for.

With BCBSTX's 2027 health plans, you can expect:

SILVER LEVEL COVERAGE

Is a silver level of health insurance best for me?

Silver plans tend to be the best fit when your health care needs are moderate; more than what a Bronze plan is designed for, but not enough to justify the higher premiums of a Gold plan. They offer a balance between monthly premiums and out-of-pocket costs.

Consider how often you expect to need care and how much you can afford to pay each month when comparing plans.

Your monthly premium is only part of your overall health care costs.
Deductibles, copays, coinsurance and other out-of-pocket costs can effect how much you pay throughtout the year. Looking at the full picture can help you decide the best option.

A BCBSTX Silver Plan could be right for you if you expect:

Standard Doctor Visits

Annual checkups and standard visits

Prescription Costs

1 or 2 medications

Family Care

Coverage for a spouse or child
